Faridpur Irrigation Department was established in 1944 at Faridpur Sadar in Faridpur district. Later, in 1975, Faridpur Irrigation Department was renamed as Faridpur Water Development Department. After this in 1975 Faridpur Water Development Department was renamed as Faridpur Management and Maintenance Department which was abbreviated as Faridpur Office Division, Bapaubo, Faridpur.
